I've tried this type of lipgloss but in Toast to Shine, and yes it is kinda pigmented so it should give you some color to your lips.

Revlon mineral lipgloss

has anyone tried it? i got one today from boots and its fab, really nice colours and has lasted quite a while but not 8hrs like it says (which is impossible) this product hasnt been advertised much but its really a good new product.

lipgloss is lipgloss, it really doesn't matter which brand you choose. If you have found colours that you like from Revlon why not save a couple of bucks? False. They're exactly the same. I've used both, MAC and Revelon. They last the same amount of time, and they look just about the same. I'm sick of how glorified MAC is, when there are FAR better make-up brands out there. Lipgloss is lipgloss.
I use Revlon ~~ its easy to find at stores %26amp; that way I can afford more colors.





The super lustrous works fine for me. A lot of the time I apply Revlons matching lipstick color then blot %26amp; add similar color Revlon lip gloss next. The color lasts longer for me %26amp; I have added shine.

I need something that wears long and stays glossy - and reasonably priced because I lose them all the time....


But I hate lip products that are sticky/tacky and stop being shiny....

Revlon mineral lip gloss is little sticky, but it's not too bad. And it does last a long time -- not 16 hours like they claim in the commercial, but certainly through a long day at work/school or a night out. I stopped wearing it because none of the colors seemed to work with my skin tone, but I loved the texture and feel of it. Also, it does get a little matte after being worn for a few hours, and the shine goes away -- but the color left behind is so pretty. I'm not sure if you'll like it based on what you said, but I know I enjoyed it the one time that I bought it.

revlon will not cover your price range.maybelline will.it's slightly cheaper.around 300rs approx.they have something called a primer which is really good for skin.their compact costs just rs.150 and comes in several shades to suit indian skin and has uv protection too.it's called maybelline white uv protect.go for it.really good.it comes witha handy mirror too.so you can use it any time you want for touch ups.


yes you can use concealer and powder alone.the foundation is too showy and can use only on special functions.but it's too dry and can't be used on dry skin as it causes peeling.i bought it just last month for a wedding. you must go to a maybelline counter and ask the lady to test your skin colour for a perfect match.maybe nude or sand shade will suit you well. but try it for sure.

i have not used it, but if that doesn't work for you i'd go with Revlon Colorstay Liquid foundation. I have very bad acne scarring and it works wonders for me! I top it off with L'Oreal Paris Bare Naturale mineral foundation and it's amazing.

Revlon Colorstay is an excellent foundation and it goes on smooth, lasts all day with minimal touch ups. If you have really oily skin you will probably need to blot once or twice during a long day.. but that is normal.


Colorstay is medium coverage, but doesn't go on cakey or chalky, as with some powder foundations. It leaves a velvety finish. I've used it before and was happy with the product.


My routine is cleanse-tone-moisturize-concealer-founda鈥?powder. So yes, do put concealer on before foundation. Just make sure to blend.

Revlon Colorstay as a concealer?

Okay so im thinking about getting the Revlon Color stay since i've heard many great things about it.


And i was wondering, since it is supposedly very thick, can i use it as a concealer also? You know for my under eye circles or blemishes???

From a Revlon user myself, although it is on the thicker side, it's really not by much. At lest not enough to really cover up what you want covered. The only thing it may do is lighten up the areas a little bit. The foundation is great, don't get me wrong but for real coverage you need to get a separate concealer. They have concealers that help fight off acne as well. It contains salicylic acid that treat as well as cover blemishes. They also have regular one that covers well, it works on everything- under eyes, blemishes, ect. Either or both with the foundation though will help do the trick. And don't forget to set it all with a light loose powder. Email me if you need more info. Good Luck.

Yes, I love it! Its matte and has excellent texture. Only problem, I'd say, is that its not thick enough to smooth your skin, only hide the redness.

i got the skin matching makeup and the concealer, both don't work at all! you can't even tell the foundation is there, it made my skin dry untill eventually it started to peel,and it had a grayish tint to it. the concealer made my blemishes/pimples worse, and it was not that great for dark circles either.

Revlon have 2 types of concealers in the colourstay range. the one with the twist/ sponge tip applicator is designed for dark circles, the other is for other marks.Honestly it's a good product and it isn't cakey... BUT... There are better products out there with more coverage. One of the best concealers I've ever used for dark circles is MAC's Select Cover Up. no, I tried a revlon concealer that is a little square, it is in a red container and is something age defying. I bought it when it was still packaged in a black container. it's not that thick, as it's a liquid, but it does provide pretty good coverage. it will cover lots, so it can work as a concealer for some people. however if your dark circles are severe or your blemishes are really bad you may want to use an actual concealer, as it will be thicker and cover them easier.


try it out an see how much it covers, then decide whether you want to use a separate concealer or not. it is a build-able coverage foundation, so you might want to do one layer as foundation, and then layer it in the areas that you want more coverage.
I would use foundation %26amp; then concealer. I use the Revlon Colorstay Foundation (liquid) and to be honest, it's really sheer and smooth for me. It's not too cakey or heavy so I would use concealer afterwards to have full coverage. I have dark under eye circles too, and I always have to add a little bit of concealer on them.

The concealer sells for about 3 dollars while the foundation is around 5-6. You should buy them at a place like Walgreens because I know the one in my city offers a ';buy on get one half off'; deal; however, the salicylic acid percentage is only 0.5 and really has no effect on your blemishes.

I would be very very very careful mixing anything with clean and clear products! I made that mistake and the skin on my entire face had cracks (no lie) and it was red and i could barely move my mouth that it hurt so bad! I would not take my chances....

Loreal and almay have always been my favorites. They have great colors for eyes, lips and nails. And loreal lip glosses are amazing.

L'oreal makes a nice foundation called True Match (best applied with a sponge). It is gentle,has decent coverage, wears well, and goes on well.





Maybelline makes a great mascara called VOLUM' express...no clumps. NICE!





Neutrogena makes a loose powder/brush combo that is great alone or over foundation, it's called Mineral Sheers. This product goes on great and doesn't look powdery or dry, and it actually brightens your you up a bit.

Revlon's illusion wand/luminous touch is a great highlighter/light concealer that you can use pretty much anywhere on your face. It's great if you don't like to wear lots of makeup. Also it's perfect to take with you for touch ups.

L'Oreal and Revlon are, overall, the best of the list you gave. Maybelline, Neutrogena and Almay have some good products. I don't like Cover Girl at all, you get what you pay for with that line. If you're going to Target, check out Sonia Kashuk's line also, it is very high quality and made by Lancome.
Revlon eyeliners are the best... be it liquid or pencil. Use blackest black for the darkest line to bring out the most intense color out of your eyes. My girl friends used to buy pricey department store brands until i got them hooked. One of my friends is so attached that before she moves over seas, she is stocking up on Revlon pencil eyeliners in case they don't sell them in the middle east.

I just bought the Revlon Beyond Natural Foundation yesterday, and I have to say that I love it. I have combination/oily skin around my T-Zone and when I put on the Revlon foundation it went on like a moisturizer and it gave my face a nice mat finish. I'm wearing it today again and it feels great on my skin. It doesn't have much coverage so you should probably spring for the concealer which works just as well. Make sure you get the primer too because it helps the foundation go on easier, but if you don't want to get it you can use a moisturizer that doesn't leave any oily residue on your face.

I've never tried Almay, but I have heard that it makes your face streaky. I have the entire Revlon Beyond Natural Collection (It was on sale, buy one, get one free) and I love it. If you have combination skin, you will like how it turns into a powder on you face. They have a wider selection of shades than Almay, so that is another plus. My only dislike is that it doesn't have a lot of coverage so you have to use the concealer to hide any blemishes. (By the way: the highlighter is great.) I've been using it for a couple of days now, and I haven't had any real issues with it yet. It does last long, so you don't have to keep reapplying it all the time. You don't have to get the primer if you have a good moisturizer--the primer is supposed to fill in any lines and make it easier to apply the foundation.

i have used the almay smart shande... and i hated it! it doesn't turn to a natural looking shade, it made me shiny [but i do have oily skin] and i had a make up line across the side of my face. i just dont think its very natural.


i truly don't think almay is the way to go.. any product i have used by them before.. other than mascara which isnt bad.. was not a good experience. especially along the lines of foundations and cover ups

I use Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer to cover my blemishes and then top it with Mineral Power Powder. But if you have dry skin, I say it's better to go with a liquid foundation or concealer to hydrate the skin while covering. CoverGirl also has something called AquaSmooth that's really hydrating. It's just your preference... And for the eyeliner, I'd go with CoverGirl because they have a smoother on one of their brands, I'm sorry I can't remember the name. I personally use Avon's Glimmersticks. They're really easy to use, on both top and bottom lids, and they last forever. (The one I'm using now I've been using for almost 4 months. And that's a while!) don't try to cover your breakouts. you will make them worse and its just way too obvious. your only 13, your too young to use that crud and ruin your face. don't worry your skin will let up but it will take time. charcoal would be almost a onyx color in most of them.

if you have dark skin almay and physicians formula wont help this products are too light for you skin color I suggest to try revlon colorstay under eye concealer it good nice it covers blemish or imperfection cost $8 at any drugstore also another expensive but good would be Mac studio finish concealer this cover everything scars, blemish, dark circles is worth to try the have one for you they have for the lightest color and to the darktes color cost $16 but is good and they dont test on animals .

Almay is pretty light, I have it in medium and it is too light for me. I am a normal white girl with a little tan lol. They almay one is also pretty dry. It goes on like lotion but in a minute or two it dries like a powder.

I bought Revlon Beyond Natural. It works wonderfully! I was going to try Almay Smart Shade but I just stuck with Revlon. Many people say that is doesnt give THAT much coverage, and that that's where Revlon's Beyond Natural concealer comes in. I have good skin so i didnt need to worry TOO much about coverage but it gave me a BEAUTIFUL finish.

Many of these companies use animal fats as binders in their products. It makes you skin softer and smoother and makes the product last longer after you put it on. But this is at the expense of animals. I loove Almay's Intense I-Color Play Up collection-- they make coordinated eyeliners (both pencil and liquid), shadows and mascaras that are specifically designed for your eye color (blue, green, brown %26amp; hazel). The eyeliners that I've tried from that collection are great and look super natural and pretty, as opposed to plain black , which can look a little harsh. Good luck!
I always buy bare essentials everything, it's so expensive, but it's worth it and it lasts forever.. Except for eyeliner! Cheap eyeliner pencils that you have to sharpen yourself like Wet and Wild from the drugstore, are the best.. they never smudge like the softer ones that you twist!
To get the nicest black eyeliner..buy loreal h-i-p cream eyeliner than buy any regular cheap eyeliner and dip the pencil liner into the cream one and it will apply flawlessly and perfectly..it is a great way to have dark eyeliner all day long without smudging =]
Almay eyeliner is amazing. It goes on really smooth and delicate, and it comes in pretty colors. It doesnt smudge very easily and stays on all day. It is $7 I think. They have great collections for different eye colours.
I personally dont use many drugstore brands of makeup, but when i purchased maybelline define a line i was very impressed. It goes on the waterline like butter, and it doesnt smudge off for quite a while! its about 3.50! hope this helps.

it really doesnt work that goo ... it is just basically a light foundation (not very pigmented) so it will blend with more people's skin type. It didn't even cover minor flaws on my face, let alone a pimple or something. I tried the blush and I am pasty, pasty white and I couldn't even see it. So if it won't show up on me, it won't show up on anyone.





Have your tried L'Oreal True Match or the L'Oreal HiP foundations, they are very good at matching skin tones for drug store brands. They are based on 3 different undertones so you can get an exact match.

Since your hair is so dark naturally, you will need to use a lighter color of brown to achieve a dark brown tone. mix the dye with the developer. shake vigorously. apply it to the lighter sections of your hair first. apply everywhere else. leave in for like an hour. wash. shampoo. condition.

Girl, honestly I don't think it will even show up. If you want to do a noticeably different color as streaks, or under the bangs, then you're going to have to bleach your hair and put a color over that. You can try doing all over though, you just won't see much of a difference.

I am 14weeks 4days pregnant and so officially in my 2nd trimester. I have had a problem with premature greying of hair for a long time and always dyed my hair. I refrained from coloring my hair in the 1st trimester but now that my greys are beginning to show its becoming really embarassing so i was wondering is it ok to dye my hair now that i am in the 2nd trimester. I am 15.5 weeks pregnant with number 2 and just used that same hair dye last night! it was on sale at my grocery store for $1.50 a box and seeing as I need 3 boxes b/c I have very very long thick hair I went for it! I love it and it looks great, I also died my hair with my first child who is 2.5 years old and perfect! it is a wives tale, go for it!
you should be fine. make sure to do a skin test before hand as pregnant women are at risk of having a reaction due to increased hormones etc. leave skin test on for 24 hrs and if thats ok then you'll be fine.
I have read that its not good to use hair dyes while pregnant, so I opt for highlights but i tell them not to touch my scalp. There's no proven affects on the baby, but i wouldn't use chemicals especially ones with ammonia in it.

The biggest concern if breathing the fumes. I have used the Nice n Easy 10 minute haircolor and it does cover all my grays. I like that it is only on for 10 mintues, just to be on the safe side. Plus, the one time I did use the stuff you live on for 30-45 mintues...I did start to feel a little sickish. Make sure you turn on the fan and leave the room after applied.

it depends on how long your hair is. If your hair is very long, it won't dye it all.

Use Clairol's Nice N Easy. It's the best. Or the Garnier 100% color thing. Make sure you leave them on super long. =) The color seems to be nicer when left on longer. Esp. black.

Just to tell you, Blue Black isn't Blue with Black, It's Black hair with a TINT of Blue, where you go outside in the sun and you can see the blue tint. No, the Blue won't turn purple...Actually the only way the blue can be very noticable is if you have blond hair, which is when the Blue becomes the more dominante color...But that's not the Real Color..and it's sort of ugly(as it looks awful on my sisters hair.)
First of all, your roots appear to be dark brown, not black.





It's only called a ';Blue Black'; because it has cool tones to it.





If you dye your hair this colour, you better be sure you want it, because black does not come out easily at all!





I would suggest using a dark ';ash'; brown to achieve the colour of your roots. When ever the name of a colour has the words ';ash'; in it, this means it's from the cool side of the colour wheel. Which, in your case, would probably be better because it looks like your hair has some red tones in it.





Your hair will not turn purple if you dye it blue black, don't worry.
I've used Revlon in the past and I haven't been impressed.. Now I use Garnier Nutrisse exclusively. Doesn't leave your hair fried and the color isn't splotchy and doesn't fade.
it sounds like you want to dye your previously died hair back to match your roots. First of all, your roots do not look black to me. It is very rare to have black hair, so I would stay away from color that dark. once you dye your hair too dark you are screwed. safer side is to go too light, then go darker. your died hair looks very warm, copperish. i think if you do a medium natural brown you should be pretty close. not ash (blue) and defiantely not warm (red, copper, auburn etc). you could also do a demi or semi permanent color that is healthier and safer. the more you do it the more it will stain. its like a glaze.
Yes, I have used that exact hair dye and yes.. the blue with be very noticeable and it turned out great . There is no chance of it turning purple. Just make sure that you are committed to very dark hair but if your natural color is very black then the blue black would be a nice accent to your hair..

Revlon ColorSilk Dye ; HELP !?

I'm fourteen, and i've been thinking about dying my hair for some time. i have dark black hair, with very light red and brown highlights. but i wanted to get rid of the black, and replace it with brown. So i got the Revlon ColorSilk Hairdye today. The color I picked out was #51;Light Brown. Since i have black hair, it will mostly likely turn dark brown. But i want to ask if any one has used this brand, and does it last long? What's your opinion on this product? And does anyone know any natural home remedies for dyed hair? I use it all the time and have colored my hair various shades for over 20 years. The color will stay in the hair you color but your roots, or new growth, will come back your natural color and need to be colored every 4 to six weeks.





This product won't damage your hair. Use the conditioner, though.

Revlon is a nice product! just follow the directions as it says and when it's time to put the conditioner in leave it in for about 10 min.

Don't panic, everything will be fine. If you are really nervous, maybe you should just get highlights, golden brown highlights would look really good with dark brown hair. But if you dont want to do that, then you should dye your hair, i use revlon and its good, everything is fine, and it will not dry your hair haha, it always feels soft and shiny after you use it.

Revlon ColorSilk / Frost & Glow questions?

I have two questions... I bought Revlon ColorSilk in Dark Blonde (61) and the Frost %26amp; Glow for blondes today. My first intention was to use the Frost %26amp; Glow for crown/face highlights, and then the ColorSilk for lowlights in the underlayers.


My first question is... Does this sound like a good idea? The Frost %26amp; Glow has the cap and hook thing, and I figured I'd use that for both colorings.








But then I was thinking about it, and I was wondering if I'd rather just dye everything with the ColorSilk and then add the Frost %26amp; Glow on top.. But is it safe to color and highlight at home? Will it turn a gross color? Should I wait a while before highlighting, and if so, how long?

Daily I do an all over color on my clients and follow with highlighting over the top. I love the look. When it comes to using the cap, just make sure that your hair is bone dry before you put it on. It can be painful trying to pull damp hair through. Another thing, when you have applied the lightener, don't rush the processing. Because you have just colored the hair, it might take a little longer to get to the blonde that you desire. Just keep the product wet, and wait. Do not let the hair reach the white stage. It will melt. As long as you keep the lightener moist, it will stay active for up to 2 hours. Condition. condition, condition!Revlon ColorSilk / Frost %26amp; Glow questions?
I dye my hair from home all the time with no problems, it always looked great. But one time I tried to highlight my hair and it was a disaster, somehow the entire crown of my head got a huge streak from the dye and it looked like a skunk (and I was very careful to not have them touch). The same thing happened to a friend of mine. So I would be careful with thie highlights. Good luck though!

How to use Revlon Colorsilk Hairdye?

In the directions it says that if this is your FIRST time coloring, to work the dye through all of your hair and let it sit for 25 minutes.





Then it says that if you are RE-coloring, to put it on your roots first and let it sit for 20 minutes, and then work it through the rest of your hair for an additional 5 minutes.





So my question is: My hair is dyed already, but it is lighter than the Colorsilk that I plan to use (and I've never used Colorsilk). My current color is a medium reddish brownish, and I'm going to dark brown. So does this mean I should use the ';first time coloring'; or ';re-coloring'; instructions?

Yea I would use the first time instructions. And keep in mind its going to be much darker than the color on the box. As well as have a deep red tone in any kind of light.

Since your hair is so dark naturally, you will need to use a lighter color of brown to achieve a dark brown tone. If you have please share your opinions and experiences. Especially if your natural colour was dark blonde because that's what mine is (although I have been dyeing it for a year with Nice n' Easy #98 Natural Extra Light Blonde) I want to switch to Revlon because they seem to be the only haircolour brand that does not test on animals but if it's a terrible product I will stick with what I'm using now.Has anyone used Revlon Colorsilk Haircolor in Blonde Shade #2 or #4?

mix the dye with the developer. shake vigorously. apply it to the lighter sections of your hair first. apply everywhere else. leave in for like an hour. wash. shampoo. condition.





box haircolor will not give you a lasting color so your better off keeeping it in for a while nd just let it fade. im sorry for responding kind of late. :)

if that is your natural colour you seem to be quite fair. it will look really different if you go really dark. i liked the strawberry blond.

If your sister has naturally black hair, she should go get her hair colored professionally. It is not likely that the color will take. A stylist may have to lighten her hair first and then apply the color. I have dark brown hair and tried to color it. I left the color on extra long since my hair is really thick and it still did not take. My stylists says I need a two-step process. Your sister probably will as well. Besides, that is the only way she will be sure she will get the color she is going for and not something that a stylist will need to correct later. Good luck.

I had blonde hair with really dark roots showing. Now my hair is blonde, with strawberry blonde/reddish roots. I don't like it, ha! I want it to be blonde all over. How long should I wait before I try coloring my hair again to make it even?

You can do it whenever. In the salon I would do it right away but I wouldn't do it more than twice. You should really try a toner first. Something from Sally's would work with a PURPLE base. Mix it with 20 or 30 volume and only put it on your roots!! Wait a few mins while you watch it in the mirror. You will see the yellow/orange disappear and that's when you know it is ready to rinse. If you leave it on to long it will make your hair too pale and possible purple. But nothing a few shampoos can't take care of. have you tried toner on your roots? that would be the first thing to do and then mybe let it settle for a week and hve another go


if you get dark roots you should use a prelightener before you use the shade of blode you want.


if you hairs in bad contion id use a deep condioner first

Revlon Colorsilk Medium Auburn 42 VS. Garnier Nutrisse Sangria 56?

currently my hair is the sangria color. when i first dye it it always comes out purpley and fades to red. right now its grown out a bit an needs to be dyed my blond is coming through ... the top of my hair is a reddish color and the bottom looks like a darker brownish red. i let my mom get my dye. she comes home with the medium auburn which to me looks more red orange. if i use the aurburn will it fade my hair a little? or will it just dye my roots and not take to the rest? or will it just make my hair darker all together and the roots light? lol i have that 3 step strip stuff from sallys but im scared to use it because my friend said her hair turned orange when she used it ...suggestions? mature answers only please.Revlon Colorsilk Medium Auburn 42 VS. it depends on how long your hair is. If your hair is very long, it won't dye it all.
