What colour is your hair now? If it is dark, there is no chance you will lift it to blonde in one go, especially doing it yourself.
A dark golden blonde would be better.

I've tried both.
Revlon is cheap %26amp; has no ammonia, so it won't damage hair as much. But if you're trying to lighten your hair, it's probably not the best brand to use.
Garnier is a mid-priced brand, has ammonia (more damaging), and the colors are pretty nice %26amp; tend to last longer.

I have dark brown hair with some grey. I have red and ash lowlights which have grown out half way.
I don't have a problem with experimenting but right now I have a few weddings to attend :) so don't want to go for a color which won't go with my clothes or will limit the make up colors I can use.
Will I have this problem with either Burgundy Brown or Dark Red Brown? I want to be able to use pink lipsticks for one and shades of purple, etc. From the pictures at the site ( I haven't yet seen the box), the burgundy looks more brown brown while the Dark Red brown seems to have this lovely red sheen to it.
I once used a Red color of Feria and it went an icky orange on my hair so I really don't want to risk something like that. Even getting my hair dyed professionally only got rid of the orange color for 2 weeks and then it was back. Well Feria is a strong color for sure. I guess I picked the wrong color then ... it was too carroty for me :)

If your hair is jet black naturally, it is going to be near impossible to get your hair that color without coloring it too many times and making it damaged. Your best chance will be to go to a salon and have them tell you if they think it is possible, let them do the color on it and if it works....then from then on you can use a box. if you have really dark hair... you should start of coloring it a stage lighter each time .. within 2 weeks periods... if your hair is black you should probably try and get it brown before blonde.. cause jumping from a really dark color to a really blonde color causes, scalp burning, hair loss, balding and so on...

I use the same kind of hair dye. Every time I use dark brown, my hair turns black. It will fade after a few washes. But, the last time I dyed my hair, I experimented with the Revlon Color Silk Dark Brown-Black and it came out the color I wanted it to (dark brown). So, I would suggest trying that the next time.
Also, unlike most hair dyes, Color Silk is only supposed to be left in for twenty minutes rather than thirty.
You can use head and shoulders, it strips hair and leaves some colour, also baby shampoo can work. You can buy a lighter colour. But you have to understand that the colours on the box don't always dictate the colour it will be on you. Going to a salon is the best way.

How long does Revlon hair color usually last?
today i purchased the Revlon Color Silk Dark Mahogany Brown #32 hair dye and dyed my hair from super light blonde to this dark brown. use a Clarifying shampoo, Suave and White Rain each make one..it is usually a clear color..... it will strip your hair of the color you put on it....it will probably take a week or so if you wash your hair everyday
its usually last up to six to eight weeks. depending on the shampoo you use try using on that wont fade your color.

I just bought the maybelline shiny-licious in coconut cream and while I LOVE the color, it's too glossy so I just dab at it with my fingers to take some of the gloss off... plus the color doesn't stay on long. i really don't know about those two brands of lipglosses, but i have my eyes on the dual lipgloss from clinique called Berry Flirt and Angel Pink. I tried alittle from my roommate and i really really liked the subtle colors. The angel pink is more natural than the berry flirt one, but if you put alittle berry flirt on with some clear gloss it'll look nice and subtle. I really hope they are still selling those still.
i would prolly go with the maybelline, because i did try the shinylicious in sun splash and berry clear and they both smell so good, and they feel great. if you want it natural make sure the gloss doesn't have sparkles. : )

I haven't tried that one yet but i know it is kinda expensive i bought a glitter lip gloss from Black radiance it isn't only for African Americans, so i bought it and it is so pretty it has just the right amount of sparkles it is called fresh squeeze. Make sure before u apply to apply some chap stick or Vaseline so u won't get that sparkles feeling.Has Anyone Tried That New Lipgloss From Revlon???
